Having taken in spectacular vistas while living in Hong Kong, the semi-retired home owners wanted to maximize the views from their new home now that they are back in her native Oregon.

HMC opened up the penthouse by removing a dark media room, thereby creating a great room that can enjoy 150 degree views. In addition, the plumbing, HVAC and electrical rough-ins were reworked and a new engineered wood floor system was installed to create a warm and cohesive space.

Consistent runs of cherry wood cabinetry and matching custom trim flow throughout the home. Accented with Thunder White Granite counters in the common spaces and recycled glass Ice Stone counters in the bathrooms, the materials move the eye around the airy apartment and out toward the city and forested parks.

Clean lines and ample storage showcase their art and mementos from their time abroad. A functional statement wall of 3Form Ecoresin panels creates a shoji screen, providing a dramatic art installation, as well as a welcoming entry. New tile work in the foyer, as well as in the kitchen and baths, also add to the artistic yet consistent use of materials.

With 180 degree penthouse views, this home underwent a 180 degree renovation, with attention to detail to the nth degree. Now, whether looking out or in, the views are stunning.
